Simon Pegg Accidentally Reveals Daniel Craig's Cameo Role in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

Has James Bond been corrupted by the power of the Dark Side? Apparently so. Last year a rumor surfaced that Daniel Craig had some kind of cameo role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a part that would be kept so secret the actor "was happy to have his name left off the posters." That probably sat fine with super secretive director JJ Abrams, which makes it kind of funny that it was his pal Simon Pegg who accidentally spilled the beans.

While in the UK for the premiere of his new rom-com, Man Up, Pegg blurted out Craig's role in the film when interviewed by The Sun, and immediately felt bad about it....

“I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”

Oops. He then quickly added, “I shouldn’t have said that.”

While this sounds cool on paper, this is the kind of casting that can sometimes take audiences out of the moment. But assuming he's not a Stormtrooper sipping on a Vodka martini and wearing a perfectly tailored suit, it should turn out okay. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th. [DailyMail]
