Jason Sudeikis and Amy Schumer Eyed for Con Artist Comedy 'Ginny' from 'Ant-Man' Director Peyton Reed

It's kind of funny that Hollywood is so head-over-heels in love with Amy Schumer right now. She pretty much rips them a new a-hole every week on her show, Inside Amy Schumer, but somehow that seems to have made her more endearing. So check out what's on her plate already: she's got a mother/daughter comedy lined up with Paul Feig (Spy), a possible dating comedy co-starring Jessica Chastain (!!!), and she'll headline Judd Apatow's Trainwreck. Basically, she's the sh*t right now, and another major project may be on the way.

According to The Tracking Board, Schumer has been offered the title role in Ginny, an offbeat con artist comedy that has Jason Sudeikis in talks to join. On board to produce is SNL creator Lorne Michaels, who has seen more than his share of talented comediennes break free from the world of TV sketch comedy. The screenplay by Andrew Weinberg was bought by Paramount a couple of years ago, and attached to direct as of now is Ant-Man's Peyton Reed.

If all works out, Schumer would play an idiotic woman who unknowingly falls for a con artist (Sudeikis), who then fakes his own death to claim her $2M. The plot description, particularly the "idiotic woman" bit, doesn't sound too promising but there's so much talent here it should be tough to screw up. That's assuming all of this comes together, of course. Either way, Schumer will be alright.
