Trailer for Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig's Comedy 'Mistress America'

Whatever it is that Greta Gerwig has done to Noah Baumbach, let's make sure it never stops, okay? Ever since they teamed up for the free-wheeling, spirited comedy Frances Ha we've seen another side to the director, and that lighter, but no less meaningful, tone continued with While We're Young. Now they're reunited for Mistress America, which looks like the screwiest thing they've ever done.

Gerwig and Baumbach co-wrote the screenplay which resembles a much broader version of Frances Ha in some ways. The film centers on Tracy (Lola Kirke, Gone Girl), whose time as a college freshman hasn't been nearly as exciting as she expected it to be. All of that changes when she reaches out to her adventurous soon-to-be stepsister Brooke (Gerwig), a Manhattan woman who gets Tracy wrapped up in all of her madcap schemes.

So another story about being young and rudderless in New York, but it's territory Baumbach and Gerwig have proven to know extremely well. Mistress America hits theaters on August 14th.
