Wyatt, best known for directing Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has come aboard the film which will center on the X-Men's resident mutant thief. The character was played on screen by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but nobody likes that movie and it's better left forgotten. Still, this is a solid move for a film most people probably aren't expecting a lot from with Tatum in the lead role. Color me optimistic, though.
Gambit is expected to open on October 7th 2016.
