Fox to Remake 'Fatal Attraction' as TV Event Series

While Rosamund Pike dicing up Neil Patrick Harris into sushi in Gone Girl was mighty impressive as far as crazy women go, she's nothing until she boils a kid's pet rabbit. Adrian Lyne's 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction is still the standard by which all thrillers about infidelity are measured, and it was only a matter of time before it got remade. Only it won't be on the big screen, but instead on network television.

THR reports that a remake of the Michael Douglas/Glenn Close classic is in the works at Fox, and it's being developed as one of their vaunted "event" series. Maria and Andre Jacquemetton (Mad Men) are on board to exec-produce and write the script, and if this shortened series is a hit the network may bring it back for season two.

Fox may have found themselves a new model with these limited series events, as they've found success with Wayward Pines, 24: Live Another Day, their upcoming X-Files relaunch, and Fargo over on FX.
