Marvel's Netflix series took off like a rocket with Daredevil, but if they're going to build there little small-screen corner of the cinematic universe it will take more than that. Next up is Jessica Jones, which stars Krysten Ritter as the titular ex-superhero who gives it up to become a private detective. While set photos have been flying around fast and furious, the first official photos are here, and they focus on Jessica's most important personal relationship.
The photos show Jones and a man literally on fire after leaving a burning building. Who is that man and why isn't he writhing in agony? It's Mike Colter as Luke "Power Man" Cage, and with his invulnerable skin and super-strength, fire is really no big deal. In the comics these two start off as friends with benefits but eventually get married and have a child. We'll see if anything like that happens here, or maybe in the Luke Cage series that follows.
