Haley Bennett Joins Emily Blunt and Rebecca Ferguson in 'The Girl On the Train'

Although she's yet to have the kind of major role that would make her a household name, Haley Bennett is a rising star who has already worked with Gregg Araki, Antoine Fuqua, and has two films on the way with Terrence Malick, plus another with Warren Beatty. But it may be her newest gig that will give Bennett the notoriety she deserves, as she's joining Rebecca Ferguson and Emily Blunt in an adaptation of best-selling thriller, The Girl On the Train.

Paula Hawkins' novel is being adapted by screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary) with Tate Taylor (The Help) directing. Considered by many to be the next Gone Girl, the film centers on a woman who observes something deadly at the idyllic home she passes on her daily commute. There are three central female roles, with Blunt taking on the role of the protagonist, Rachel, while Ferguson plays Anna and Bennett is Megan. To reveal more about their characters would give away too much as there are many secrets that come to light.

The Girl On the Train is expected to be huge when it arrives in 2016, so expect Dreamworks to aim high when casting the main male characters, as well. [Deadline]
