Will Poulter Boards 'War Machine'; Toby Kebbell Heads to 'Kong: Skull Island'

David Michod and Brad Pitt's Netflix film War Machine already looked like a potential awards player for next year, and certainly the cast is starting to bear that out. Will Poulter (We're the Millers) is the latest to join Pitt, Topher Grace, Scoot McNairy, Emory Cohen, John Magaro and Anthony Michael Hall in the dark comedy adapted from Michael Hastings' book, The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan, which is based on the rise and fall of General Stanley McChrystal. Shooting begins this fall, with Netflix planning a theatrical and streaming rollout next year. [Variety]

Dr. Doom vs. King Kong? Fantastic Four and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Toby Kebbell has booked passage to Kong: Skull Island, joining Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins, and Tom Wilkinson. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the film will follow an expedition to the mysterious and dangerous island home of the legendary ape. Basically if there is a supporting role in a blockbuster that needs to be filled, Kebbell is your guy. He's already starring in the remake of Ben-Hur, and will appear in Duncan Jones' Warcraft movie.  As for Kong: Skull Island, it's due to open March 10th 2017, and has just hired Derek Connolly (Jurassic World co-writer) to help out on the script.
