Bradley Cooper's a Culinary Bad Boy In the New 'Burnt' Trailer
Given how gung-ho The Weinstein Company tends to be about promoting any awards season favorites, it probably says something that we've heard so little about Burnt. That silence is especially deafening when the cast is taken into account as multiple Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper leads the culinary drama with Sienna Miller, Emma Thompson, Omar Sy, Daniel Bruhl, Uma Thurman, Alicia Vikander, and more (but not Jamie Dornan, whose scenes were cut) co-starring. So it may be that the film is geared more towards scoring a big box office rather than earning any awards.
Cooper stars as Adam Jones (the film's previous title, by the way), a culinary bad boy with two Michelin stars to his credit. But to get the elusive third star he's going to need to take his restaurant to another level and rounds up an all-star team who can make that happen.
The latest trailer makes the world of cooking look like an especially intense episode of Hell's Kitchen, which isn't a bad thing. It's a good way of making clear how different this film is from the rash of cooking movies we've seen lately.
Directed by John Wells, Burnt hits theaters on October 23rd.
