Brie Larson Escapes to the Real World In the New 'Room' Trailer

Get ready, because Brie Larson is gunnin' for some gold this season. Or at least A24 wants you to keep her in mind for such an honor, as the buzz is starting to build for her performance in Room, an adaptation of Emma Donaghue's acclaimed novel. After mostly starring in comedic roles, Larson showed in Short Term 12 that she deserved to be considered one of today's elite talents, and now a new trailer for Room makes that case abundantly clear.

Directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Frank), the film stars Larson as Ma, who has been confined to a 10-by-10 foot room with her son, Jack (Jacob Tremblay) for years. That little room has been Jack's entire world, and while Ma has fought to make his life a happy one, she is also planning an escape. When they finally do escape, Ma and Jack are forced to confront the real world and the complexities that come along with it.

Room opens on October 16th in limited release, followed by a national rollout on November 6th.
