John Goodman and Thomas Mann Join 'Kong: Skull Island'

Legendary's Kong: Skull Island has been slow to get moving and has already undergone a number of changes. First it lost two of the biggest stars when Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons dropped out due to scheduling conflicts caused by delays. Then Legendary decided to distribute the film with Warner Bros. rather than Universal as a way of leading up to a crossover with Gareth Edwards' Godzilla at some point. So the cast has changed, the scope has changed, but things appear to be back on track with two more stars coming aboard.

John Goodman and Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) are joining the expedition to Kong: Skull Island. Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Toby Kebbell, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins, John C. Reilly, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tom Wilkinson star in the blockbuster film about a group of explorers venturing to the dangerous island of home of the "king of the apes". Goodman plays Randa, a government official leading an expedition to the island, with Mann as a member of the team.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island opens March 10th 2017. [Deadline/Variety]
