New Trailer for 'Manhattan Romance' Starring Gaby Hoffmann and Katherine Waterston
I admit to being something of a Gaby Hoffmann obsessive. The free-spirited actress has frequently taken roles that fit her personality, meaning they're wildly unpredictable, and it's led to some very interesting performances of late. Her stint on HBO's Girls has been a high spot of the series, while she was terrific in Crystal Fairy, Obvious Child, and Veronica Mars. Her next film is yet another indie effort, a rom-com titled Manhattan Romance, and now a new trailer for it has arrived.
Hoffman stars alongside writer/director Tom O'Brien, Katherine Waterston, and Caitlin Fitzgerald in the story of a filmmaker trying to complete a documentary about relationships in New York, while struggling with his own love life. Here's the synopsis:
Danny, a commercial editor and documentary filmmaker attempts to finish his film, a study on relationship while navigating the relationships in his own life. Will he continue to chase the unattainable Theresa a hippy new age dancer(Caitlin Fitzgerald) or will he finally admit he’s in love with his best friend Carla (Katherine Waterston) who is in an unfulfilling relationship with a political strategist (Gaby Hoffman). Manhattan Romance is a funny insightful look at contemporary life in Manhattan. It explores new age ideas and open relationship as well as true friendship and connection.
Manhattan Romance hits theaters and ITunes on October 2nd.
