After an emotional return during the Emmy broadcast, Tracy Morgan is ready to start working again. It's been well over a year since the awful accident that killed his friend and nearly took his life as well, but now Morgan is returning to the big screen as part of Fist Fight, the upcoming comedy led by Ice Cube and Charlie Day.
Morgan, who was last seen on the big screen in Chris Rock's Top Five, which was shot before the accident, will play a coach at the same school that employs Cube and Day's characters. Day plays a mild-mannered teacher who is challenged to a fist fight by a much tougher colleague, played by Cube naturally. Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) co-star with TV vet Richie Keen making his directorial debut. Morgan and Cube previously teamed up on two pretty awful movies, First Sunday and Are We There Yet?
Shooting on Fist Fight begins later this month. Morgan keeps things going next month as host of the Oct. 17 episode of SNL. [Variety]
