Chris Evans Out, Justin Theroux In for 'The Girl On the Train'

There simply aren't enough hours in the day, especially for someone like Captain America. When Chris Evans and Jared Leto both began eyeing a role in Tate Taylor's adaptation of The Girl On the Train, there was some chance one or both of them may not be able to fit it into their schedules. Turns out it was Evans who hasn't been able to find room for the film, and so he's been replaced by The Leftovers star, Justin Theroux.

Theroux, who also wrote Iron Man 2 and Tropic Thunder, joins the previously cast Rebecca Ferguson, Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, and Edgar Ramirez. The film is based on the best-selling thriller by Paula Hawkins and centers on Rachel, a drunken divorcee (Blunt) who fantasizes about the seemingly-perfect family in the house she passes every day on the train, only to become involved when the wife goes missing. Theroux will play Rachel's ex-husband.

Next up for Theroux is Zoolander 2, which he co-wrote with Ben Stiller.  Evans is busy with the Marc Webb-directed drama, Gifted. [THR]
