When he's not busy winning Oscars as he did earlier this year for Selma, Common has been playing a lot of tough guys on screen. He recently played a lethal assassin battling Liam Neeson in Run All Night, and he also wrapped a role in DC's Suicide Squad. Now Common is ready for another action role, only this time he'll be taking on Keanu Reeves in John Wick 2.
Common is set to play the main villain, the top security guy for a female crime lord. No word on who will play this crime lord but if he's the top bad guy then she must be the "hands off" type. Along with Common it has been confirmed that Ian McShane will return as the manager of a hotel frequented by assassins.
Hopefully the action doesn't kick off with Common killing John Wick's puppy because we know how that turns out. This would be much cooler if Common was playing his character from Wanted. Imagine the gun fights they could have!
With David Leitch off directing The Coldest City, it will be Chad Stahelski at the helm solo for John Wick 2, which begins filming this week. [THR]
