Here's Who Jesse Eisenberg is Really Playing in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'

Jesse Eisenberg may have taken some heat for his dismissive attitude towards fans at Comic-Con earlier this year, but boy is he going the extra mile for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In one of the cooler promo spots for the film, Fortune magazine has conducted an interview with Eisenberg in which he stays completely in character as Lex Luthor. In fact, the movie isn't mentioned anywhere in the piece at all.

While it's mostly just adding some shading and color to the Lex Luthor character, there are a few teases for the film that are pretty interesting. For one thing, Eisenberg is actually playing Lex Luthor Jr., or more accurately Alexander Joseph Luthor Jr., "a 31-year-old wunderkind who transformed an aging petrochemical and heavy machinery dinosaur into a tech darling of the Fortune 500 in what some call a superhuman feat."

Speaking of superhumans, Luthor takes a not-so-subtle dig at Superman, who he perceives as a real danger to the world and all of humanity, a face of his personality that has been apparent in the trailers...

"We live in the most dangerous point of time in all of human history. Statistically speaking, it's a near certainty that another world-changing crisis is hurtling toward us like a speeding bullet. We have to be ready to defend ourselves. No civilization was ever conquered by having a strong military."

Another interesting tease is the presence of Kord Industries, a rival of LexCorp and Wayne Enterprises when it comes to charitable donations. Kord is a tip of the hat to Ted Kord aka the Blue Beetle, a Justice Leaguer who is rumored to be getting a team-up movie with Booster Gold.

And Luthor knows exactly how he's going to stop Superman and be the savior of humanity...

"Handouts don't change the world. The true gift of LexCorp is our products. We are on the cusp of unveiling a technology that will change the world forever," he teases. "It's about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don't even know about yet. I don't want to scare anybody... much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they're here today."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25th 2016.
