Lizzie Borden's story has fascinated people since she committed the infamous murders in 1892, and that includes Hollywood which is fond of telling her tale. Now it will be told one more time with stars Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny headlining.
According to Variety, Stewart and Sevigny will star in an untitled psych-thriller from director Pieter Van Hees (Waste Land) and written by Brian Kass. Sevigny will sharper her ax as Lizzie, while Stewart is the Bordens' live-in maid, Bridget Sullivan, who testified at the trial. Some have speculated that Sullivan and Lizzie had an illicit relationship that was discovered by the parents, leading to their murders. Details on the film's plot are yet to be revealed, so we don't know if it will indulge in those theories or not.
No firm start date has been set as financing comes together, although that shouldn't be a problem with Stewart attached.
