'The Last Of Us' Movie Appears To Be Dead

Hard to believe it has been nearly two years since Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams was revealed to have met to star in a movie based on The Last of Us. The popularity of the survival video game and Williams' eerie resemblance to its main character, Ellie. Other than a brief update by Williams later that same year, nothing has been heard about it, and now game director Neil Druckmann reveals why, and it's not good news. He tells IGN...

“I know I said in an interview a while back we had a table read, got the script to a good place and it kind of entered development hell like these things tend to do. There hasn’t been any work done on it in over a year and a half.”

Oof, that doesn't sound promising at all. While he didn't say the project was dead, it's definitely on life support. And surely Williams, who has enough to do already, isn't going to sit around waiting no matter how enthusiastic she may be.
