First Trailer For Dan Brown's 'Inferno' Reunites Tom Hanks And Ron Howard
Back in the mid-2000s America was obsessed with Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, a faith-testing global adventure centered on everyone's favorite symbologist hero, Robert Langdon. Ron Howard and Tom Hanks paired up for a hit adaptation of the film in 2006 that earned a huge $750M. The 2009 sequel Angels & Demons failed to capture audiences in the same way, and it' safe to say the character isn't nearly as popular as he once was. But a franchise is a franchise is a franchise, and now Langdon is back with Inferno, and the first trailer has finally arrived after years of the film being in development.
Howard is once again behind the camera with Hanks back in the role of Langdon, joined by Felicity Jones, Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, Ben Foster, and Sidse Babett Knudsen. As you probably suspected, the plot this around involves Dante and great mystery surrounding the author. Basically, this looks much like the previous two installments so if you liked those then this one should scratch the itch. Here's the official synopsis:
"Academy Award® winner Ron Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s (Da Vinci Code) billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot."
Inferno opens in theaters on October 28th.
