Universal Wants Dwayne Johnson For 'The Wolf Man' Reboot

Given the way everything he touches turns to franchise gold, Dwayne Johnson is unquestionably the most sought-after actor in Hollywood.  So when news breaks that some studio wants him for their latest film, it shouldn't be seen as any kind of a surprise.  Deadline is now reporting that Universal wants Johnson to be part of their classic monsters universe, specifically for their eventual Wolf Man film.

The site claims there are "persistent rumors" that Universal will approach him for The Wolf Man, which Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) is writing. Not much else is known about the project's approach, but luring in Johnson would be another huge addition to the franchise that already has Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe in The Mummy and Johnny Depp in The Invisible Man.

Meanwhile, Johnson is getting even busier by producing Sony's adaptation of martial arts graphic novel, Son of Shaolin. Jay Longino created and wrote the comic and will also pen the screenplay, a modern Kung-Fu story combining Shaolin mythology with coming-of-age elements. At this point Johnson is only producing but Sony could make a play for Johnson to take an on-screen role because obviously they've got to try, right?
