Of all the blockbuster trailers we've seen in the last few days, where does Ben-Hur chart on your radar? Probably somewhere near the bottom since there is absolutely zero buzz, even among the faith-based crowd, for this modern take on Lew Wallace's 19th-century novel. And the worst thing is that it comes out in a month so there isn't even much time to kick up some dust.
The latest trailer is more of what you've already seen: Jack Huston as the falsely-accused Ben-Hur who does battle, occasionally in a chariot, against his adopted brother played by Toby Kebbell who has never met a studio movie he can't fit into his schedule. Morgan Freeman, Rufus Sewell, Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, Pilou Asbaek, Rodrigo Santoro, Moises Arias, and Sofia Black D’Elia co-star with Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) giving the Biblical tale an epic spin.
Ben-Hur opens August 19th.
