'Jurassic World 2' Confirmed As Part Of A Dino-Trilogy
Get ready for some news that is bound to knock you on your ass: Jurassic World was the start of a trilogy. I know. I'll wait for you to pick yourself back up. A year ago Jurassic World arrived, spear-headed by former indie filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, and made an insane amount of money. For a sequel to a decades old franchise about dinosaurs it was an incredible feat, and a sequel was quickly green lit with J.A. Bayona eventually coming on as director. There hasn't been a ton of talk since then, but with Bayona on press tour for his new movie, A Monster Calls, of course the attention has turned to Jurassic World 2.
Chatting with Latino Review, Bayona confirmed the plan for three Jurassic World movies that will continue to have Trevorrow's involvement even though he's a little busy with something called Star Wars: Episode IX...
"The whole Jurassic World is a trilogy that Colin Trevorrow has envisioned. We’re writing the second chapter, and it’s very interesting where he’s leading the story. I grew up watching Steven Spielberg movies and I love those movies and the legacy, so it’s a question of being truthful to the legacy and at the same time, bringing new stuff that people will appreciate. We are still six months ahead of shooting, and so far, so good. It’s very exciting right now."
As for plot details those remain under wraps. We've heard a little bit about "open sourced" dinosaurs or something, but not much beyond that. We do know Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be back, so get ready for more flirtatious fun with those two. Jurassic World 2 arrives on June 22nd 2018.
