'The Walking Dead' Will Never Die As AMC Renews It For Season 8

Just because one of Rick's crew is about to get offed at the beginning of season 7's premiere next week, doesn't mean The Walking Dead is anywhere close to dying. In fact, it's more alive than ever as AMC has taken the step of renewing it for an eighth season. Is it too big of a commitment too soon?

Well, no. Season six's finale was slightly down compared to other seasons but the show is far and away the network's biggest. There are few shows that rate nearly as high as The Walking Dead on a weekly basis, and with comic creator Robert Kirkman saying there is enough material for twelve seasons (!!!) why should AMC give any of that up?

So get ready. Somebody's taking a barbed wire bat to the dome when The Walking Dead returns on October 23rd.
