First Trailer For Horror 'Rupture' Starring Noomi Rapace

If you know anything about director Steven Shainberg, it's that his movies never quite fit into any particular genre. For instance, his breakout film was the BDSM office romance Secretary with Maggie Gyllenhaal. His followup was the controversial and utterly bizarre Dianne Arbus fantasy-biopic Fur, which was so out there the photographer's estate refused to grant approval. Now Shainburg is back with a horror film that appears to be much more, Rupture, and the first trailer for it is here.

Starring Noomi Rapace, Peter Stormare, Lesley Manville, Kerry Bishé, and Michael Chiklis, the film centers on a single mom who is abducted, held captive, and experimented on inside a mysterious facility. Here's the synopsis:

Single mom Renee Morgan has learned to be strong by necessity. One day, after dropping her son off at school and going about daily chores, she’s suddenly abducted and locked away in a truck that drives off — and continues driving for days. Wherever she’s being taken, it’s very far away. The truck finally arrives at a large, mysterious facility that could be pharmaceutical, could be governmental, could be anything. A mysterious man begins to question her about her medical history. He then starts asking about her fears. Renee realizes just how irrational and frightening a situation she’s in. Others arrive, observing her. Why Renee? What could these people want? The answers to both questions lie far from any scenario she could possibly imagine.

Currently no stateside release has been set but Rupture opens in the U.K. on November 4th. Hopefully we'll get a date around the same time.
