Old Tensions Die Hard In New 'Trainspotting 2' International Trailer

Twenty years may have passed since Danny Boyle's Trainspotting, but if you think the actions committed in the past have been forgotten, that would be a mistake. The sequel T2: Trainspotting brings back the original cast, Ewan McGregor as Renton, Ewen Bremner as Spud, Robert Carlyle's Bregbie, and Jonny Lee Miller as Sick Boy, with tensions between them higher than ever.

Renton's betrayal from the first movie clearly still weighs on everyone's mind as seen in the new international trailer, which offers some footage we haven't seen before. While I admit to not being a huge Trainspotting fan, I always dug the cinematography and Anthony Dod Mantle seems to have matched its frenetic style.  Here's the synopsis:

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.
Twenty years have gone by.
Much has changed but just as much remains the same.
Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.
They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).
Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

T2: Trainspotting opens in select theaters on March 3rd, going wide a week later.
