Chloe Moretz, Jack O'Connell, & Josh Gad To Throw The 'Party Of The Century'
Truman Capote was always a larger than life figure contrary to his physical stature, and he threw lavish parties to match his outsized personality. The In Cold Blood author and socialite's life has been told in a pair of fairly recent movies already, Capote and Infamous, but the next one will center on his biggest bash of all, the 1966 Black and White Ball.
Chloe Grace Moretz, Josh Gad, and Jack O'Connell will star in Party of the Century, to be directed by American Splendor duo Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman. Gad will take on the role of Capote, who gathered all of his famous, high-society friends at the Grand Ballroom at New York’s Plaza Hotel on Nov. 28, 1966. The affair was chronicled in Deborah Davis' book which will serve as the basis for the film. Moretz will play Fawn, a "beautiful Hollywood ingenue", while O'Connell is a working class elevator operator. Both will fall in love after receiving invites to the exclusive shindig.
Sounds like it has the potential for The Great Gatsby levels of excess and frivolity. Berman and Pulcini said of the announcement...
"Our film is a delicate balance of worlds converging at a pivotal moment in time. Jack, Chloe and Josh are brilliant performers who can embody these worlds while bringing the electricity and pathos required to make the story fly.”
