Julianne Moore To Get Her Groove Back In A 'Gloria' Remake

In 2013 Sebastian Leilo's Chilean drama Gloria was a sensation on the festival and art house circuit, earning accolades for him and star Paulina Garcia. If you don't recognize the name, you may recall her for her role in Ira Sachs' Little Men, which was also an indie darling just last year. Anyway, like with any good foreign or indie film Gloria is about to get an American remake. No point in fussing about it, that's just how things work.

At least this remake will have Leilo on board to write and direct, and he'll be working with Julianne Moore in the title role. The film will be a reimagining inspired by the original, telling a different story of a middle-aged woman in Los Angeles looking for love in dance clubs for single adults. She finds new life when she meets Arnold, and enters into a passionate romance that gives her renewed strength.

Pablo Larrain (No, Jackie) is on board as a producer, making this look even more like a remake we shouldn't be too worried about. [THR]
