If you were hoping Rooney Mara would return to play Lisbeth Salander in Fede Alvarez's The Girl in the Spider's Web, well...so sad, cuz it ain't happening. The Crown's Claire Foy was the final name tossed into the mix ahead of bigger stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, and while it has taken Sony some time to make up their mind, she has come away with the high-profile gig.
Foy will get all tatted up and pierced for the rebooted role, the biggest of her career. Alvarez will direct and co-write the script with Jay Basu and Steven Knight.
