Geoff Johns has been one busy man lately. The comics scribe, who basically runs the entire DC Universe, was just recently named DC's Chief Creative Officer(I have no idea what that entails). He has numerous TV and film projects, including stints on Smallville. He's also been intimately involved in the production of Green Lantern, the next big superhero project coming out of Warner Brothers. Despite all of his duties, he also manages to find time to be Twitter Cheerleader in Chief. From his twitter feed...
Back from an amazing trip to Green Lantern town a.k.a. New Orleans!! Ryan IS Hal. And Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.
Back in January it was reported that Strong was merely in discussions for the role. I think we can take this as a confirmation. Sinestro is the former friend of Green Lantern who's slow turn to villainy will likely be the crux of film's story.
If you don't recognize the name Mark Strong, chances are you've seen and liked him in a supporting role in one of your favorite blockbusters. He most recently was seen in Sherlock Holmes as the prime villain, Lord Blackwood. His next major film will be the superhero comedy, Kick-Ass, and he's also secured a role as Sir Godfrey in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood update.
