WWE Star Tries Out for Role in Conan the Barbarian

Yo yo yo yo yo yo....yo! WWE wrestler, Shad Gaspard, recently revealed via his Myspace blog that he has been auditioning for the role of Ukafa in the upcoming remake of Conan the Barbarian. Ukafa is the chief villain of the film, described as "a very dark-skinned African or African American, massively framed at six-foot-five, gold-toothed, hardened by a lifetime of war". Hm, sounds like he's a fit for the part. Gaspard towers at 6 foot 7 inches and close to 300 pounds.

Gaspard says:

Now it’s down to me and several others to see which one of us will go head to head with Jason Momoa. This role is as important to me as playing The Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns was for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. I never ask my fans for much, but if you think I would be the best opponent to fight Jason Momoa in the new Conan the Barbarian film then I need you guys to hit the Conan chat rooms, forums, blogs, tweets, and message boards and let them know Shad Gaspard is the man when it comes to kicking ass and taking names on the big screen…

Gaspard has never acted in any feature capacity, but he has taken acting classes in college. Although after seeing his stiff, cartoonish performances on WWE wrestling every couple weeks(he's not good enough to be there every week) I'm hoping tuition costs were low. Maybe if the part calls for him to lay flat on his back and stare up at the lights it'll be a role more fit for him to play.
