Anyway, we're getting something of a confirmation now as Deadline is reporting that Fassbender is in early talks to play the master of magnetism in Matthew Vaughn's prequel. If he signs on he'll be playing opposite James McAvoy(Wanted
) as the X-men's leader Professor Charles Xavier. The role of Magneto had previously been played by Ian McKellan in three X-men 
films.
