Angelina Jolie is set to make her writing and directorial debut in a love story set in the 1990s during the Bosnian War. It was initially thought that Jolie would be starring in the as yet unnamed film, but this doesn't appear to be the case. There's not much more information than that, other than
GK Films' statement that the film would be about a "Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the war and the effect it has on their relationship".
I actually thought this is something she would've done years ago. Her 2003 film,
Beyond Borders, seemed like the perfect jumping on point for her to take her career down this path of making films highlighting her humanitarian efforts. Maybe the fact that Beyond Borders wasn't very good sidetracked that idea for a few years.
