So now we have a trailer for the remake, and I gotta admit I'm kinda diggin' it. While I'm no fan of horror, I have a special place in my heart for pretty much all revenge fantasies. Especially the ones that aren't afraid push a few boundaries. Even if it steps over the lines of good taste. The script is by Final Destination creator, Jeffrey Reddick, with Steven R. Monroe behind the camera. I'm expecting this to be a lot of fun, although I can see already that it's going to get trashed by a lot of people. These types of movies are always the most polarizing. Anyway, check out the trailer, and let us know what you think of it. Are you into violent movies like this? Or do you feel they have no redeeming value whatsoever? What do you think of the film poster? Do you think it's sexualizing rape? If looked at a certain why, then obviously yes it is.
But on the other hand, do I blame the marketing folks for presenting their film in a way that will attract more viewers? No, I don't.
SYNOPSIS
Writer Jennifer Hills takes a retreat from the city to a charming cabin in the woods to start on her next book. But Jennifer’s presence in the small town attracts the attention of a few morally deprived locals who set out one night to teach this city girl a lesson. They break into her cabin to scare her. However, what starts out as terrifying acts of humiliation and intimidation, quickly and uncontrollably escalates into a night of physical abuse and torturous assault. But before they can kill her, Jennifer sacrifices her broken and beaten body to a raging river that washes her away. As time passes, the men slowly stop searching for her body and try to go back to life as usual. But that isn’t about to happen. Against all odds, Jennifer Hills survived her ordeal. Now, with hell bent vengeance, Jennifer’s sole purpose is to turn the tables on these animals and to inflict upon them every horrifying and torturous moment they carried out on her… only much, much worse.
