You'll find no bigger fans of Robert Kirkman's epic horror comic book series, The Walking Dead, than us here at Punch Drunk Critics. For those who've never read a single issue, it's basically everything that happens once a George Romero flick ends. It's about a group of people trying to survive, in some cases raise children, in a world that has been nearly wiped out by a horde of flesh eating zombies. The series is known for it's crazy twists, and the tenuous of every character's life. To say that no character is safe in The Walking Dead is an understatement.
So when we heard that Frank Darabont, director of The Shawshank Redemption, was bringing it to the small screen we nearly crapped our pants. At Comic-Con we got a look at a bootlegged copy of the first trailer, which calmed any fears I had that the zombie design would be cheap in appearance. It's not. This could be a movie it looks so good.
Now we have that same trailer in all it's official glory. We also got a start date of October 31st during AMC's annual Fearfest. The six-episode first season will be kicked off with a 90 minute episode. Creator Robert Kirkman will be writing episode 4.
Check out the trailer below, and as always let us know what you think of it. Are you excited for The Walking Dead?
