Mark Millar isn't just content to have his own stories brought to the big screen by other folks. Sure, he's gained a ton of mainstream notoriety(as well as some fat paychecks) for his creations, Wanted and Kick-Ass, but now he wants to jump into the game himself in a more hands on role. It was back in November that we first learned of Millar's intent to make his directorial debut, but details on whatever the film was weren't clear. Now we have some actual details, as well as a few shots from on set.
The film is called Miracle Park, and it's being described as a cross between the X-men and Trainspotting. Seriously. It's being shot using handheld cameras in Scotland as we speak. The plot involves animal rights activists who discover a secret government base beneath a low-level research facility.
This one's being produced on the cheap, and there's no word on distribution as of yet. I'm assuming that with Millar's name attached we can expect some sort of theatrical release here in the States. Check out the photos, courtesy of the fine folks at IGN.
