What we didn't know is that this isn't the only Paranormal Activity flick we'll be getting this year. In December, Japanese audiences will be treated to Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night, a direct sequel that follows a girl who visits San Diego and accidentally brings the same spirit that haunted Katie Featherston back to Japan and into her family home.
The film is being produced by Presidio Corporation, who's CEO seems very excited to be bringing the horror phenomenon to Japan...
“Paranormal Activity was a huge success with Japanese audiences and we feel confident that our own Japanese continuation of the franchise can find an enthusiastic genre audience both here and overseas,” Presidio CEO and the film’s producer Yasutaka Hanada said.
Toshikazu Nagae handled both the directing and scripting chores, and stars a bunch of people I'm sure none of us have ever heard of.
While it will be produced totally in Japanese, expect a subtitled version to show up here at some point. That's not confirmed yet, but it only makes sense considering the worldwide popularity of the franchise.
