I can count the number of good Matthew McConaughey films on one hand, but it's possible that he's just found his next one. The shirtless wonder has signed on to Voltage Pictures' dark comedy, Killer Joe, where he'll be playing a contract killer hired by a pair of siblings to kill their mother for the insurance money. Emile Hirsch will be the son of the intended victim. No word yet on who will be playing his sister.
William Friedkin(Bug, Blue Chips) will be directing, based on an original play by Tracy Letts. Letts will be handling the scriping chores himself.
The only way I'll be able to buy into McConaughey as a killer is if he rocks the chrome dome and beard just like he did in Reign of Fire.
