Sure Shots: Tower Heist; Zach Galifianakis; Top Gun 2

* Grrrr...I'm really not appreciating all these attempts to pretty up Brett Ratner's buddy heist flick, Tower Heist. A slew of casting over the last week has very nearly made me want to look forward to this thing, and this might just push it over the top. Now Matthew Broderick and Casey Affleck have signed on. Broderick will play another Wall Street guy, but one of the good guys. Affleck will be the best friend of Ben Stiller's character, but isn't involved in the heist, which could lead to problems. They're joining Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Gabourey Sidibe, Tea Leoni, Michael Pena, and Alan Alda.

* During an interview with E!, Robert Downey Jr. let it slip that his Due Date co-star, Zach Galifianakis would be making a brief appearance in the upcoming untitled Muppets movie. As who? Not sure yet, but he'll be joining a rapidly expanding and impressive cast that features Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones. Now if only Downey himself would get in on the fun. The video of the reveal is actually kinda funny, which you can check out here. Ignore that hacky Ben Lyons if you can.

* Hmmm...Christopher McQuarrie, the guy scripting the now very much in the pipeline Top Gun sequel, has made it clear to Vulture that he intends for Tom Cruise's "Maverick" character to be the lead guy. Quoting him, “There is no in which Maverick is not the starring role.” Me being the tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist that I am recognize that he didn't say Tom Cruise. He said "Maverick". Uh oh.
