Dreamworks names voice cast for 'Rise of the Guardians'

I haven't written about Rise of the Guardians since it was simply called 'The Guardians' and was going to feature Leonardo Dicaprio as one of the principle voice talents. Somewhere along the way I guess he dropped out, because Variety is now reporting that Alec Baldwin, Jude Law, Isla Fisher, Chris Pine, and Hugh Jackman will be lending their voices to Dreamworks' 3D animated adventure.

Based on William Joyce's upcoming series of children's books The Guardians of Childhood, Rise of the Guardians sounds like your average issue of Fables. Five familiar fairy tale characters: the Easter Bunny(Jackman), the Tooth Fairy(Fisher), Jack Frost(Pine), and Santa Claus(Baldwin) all must band together to defeat the evil Boogeyman(Law) and prevent him from plunging the world into eternal darkness. Joyce has seen his work adapted into film before, most recently with 2007's Meet the Robinsons. Guillermo Del Toro is on board as an exec producer.

Rise of the Guardians will hit theaters on November 21st 2012.
