I don't usually follow the workings of too many HBO movies, but Game Change has me as excited as literally anything else not named X-men: First Class. Part of the reason is that I'm a political junkie, and HBO scored major points with me for their 2008 film, Recount, which covered the hijinks behind the hijinks surrounding the 2000 Presidential campaign. Also there's the fact that Game Change, which follows the crazy 2008 Presidential battle between John McCain and Barack Obama, brings back the Recount team of director Jay Roach and writer Danny Strong. The cast is equally impressive, with Ed Harris starring as McCain, Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin, Woody Harrelson as Steve Schmidt, and Ron Livinston as McCain adviser Mark Wallace. Now we're getting our first look at how Moore will look as Caribou Barbie...er, Sarah Palin. Is it dead on perfect or what? Almost scary.
That's not all as THR and Deadline are reporting a ton of additional, important roles have been filled. Melissa Farman(Lost) will be Sarah Palin's unmarried mom/celibacy advocate, Bristol. Bristol's baby daddy, Levi Johnston, will be played by country singer Justin Gaston. Sarah Paulson(The Spirit) is McCain adviser Nicolle Wallace; Peter MacNicol(Ghostbusters 2) as McCain campaign manager Rick Davis; Larry Sullivan as Palin's deputy Chief of Staff Chris Edwards; and Jamey Sheridan(The Ice Storm) as campaign adviser Mark Salter.
Game Change is set to start shooting this summer.
