Filmmakers and actors are getting pretty savvy when it comes to misleading the press geeks. Take Zack Snyder's claim months ago that General Zod wasn't going to be in his Superman movie. What do we have now? Michael Shannon as General Zod. I'm getting a similar vibe from Tom Hiddleston, who recently led people to believe that his Loki character would not be making an appearance in The Avengers, as had been speculated for weeks. I09 got a tip from a reader who says that the post-credits sequence in Thor makes it clear that Loki will in fact be making an appearance.
"The post-credits scene makes it pretty clear that Loki WILL appear in The Avengers. I think it's worth looking out for Stellan Skarsgaard on the cast list...!"
Now here's the problem. What the frig does Stellan Skarsgard have to do with Loki? Is the tipster confused? Skarsgard does appear in Thor as professor Erik Selvig, and is supposed to be reprising that role in The Avengers. So maybe this is all a misunderstanding? Or maybe ihe means both will appear. If Loki does show up, it's unlikely he'll be the main villain, but possibly just a background player stirring the pot.
