While it would've been cool to see Sally Field as a part of Timur Bekmambetov's
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
, she'll have to settle for the boring, historically accurate version. As has been speculated for a couple of years now, she'll be playing Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's upcoming biopic,
Lincoln, about the 16th President of the United States. Daniel Day-Lewis
is set to star. The hope is for shooting to begin next fall with a possible release in the fourth quarter of 2012.
The film is based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's 2005 novel,
Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln
and is about the often contentious members of his Cabinet between the years 1861-1865.
