Taylor Lautner is no longer just that
Twilight
dude who can't find a proper sized shirt to wear. He's already one of the highest paid actors in the world has a handful of high profile projects lined up from now through the end of 2012. The opening salvo in his bid to take over Hollywood is
Abduction, an action-thriller that looks a little bit like The Fugitive if it were set in the world of Saved by the Bell. John Singleton(
Boyz in the Hood
) directs the film, which features Lautner as a teenager who discovers his own picture on a missing persons website. That kicks off a string of events that see him getting chased by a bunch of goons. Lily Collins(
The Blind Side
), Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Maria Bello, Michael Nyqvist, and Jason Isaacs star. Check out the premier trailer for the film below...
I kinda like it. I mean it looks like pretty standard stuff, but Lautner strikes an impressive image, and appears to be far more believable as an action star than I would've given him credit for. I'm not sure why Sigourney Weaver is there, but she's gotta work too I guess.
Abduction is due to open in theaters on September 23rd!
