Princely Sam Claflin cast in Snow White and the Huntsman

It's been rough going for Universal trying to cast the male lead in Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders' action-oriented take on the fairy tale.  It all started with Tom Hardy, who left for greener pastures in the Bat-verse. Then Viggo Mortensen, who backed out suddenly to pursue whatever. Then an offer was made to Hugh Jackman. Right now an offer is out to Thor star Chris Hemsworth, a drastic change both in terms of age and star power. Somebody's gotta rescue Kristen Stewart's Snow White, right?

Yes indeed, but who that will be is still up in the air. One character we haven't heard much about at all is the one who presumably would be the love of Snow White's life: Prince Charming. Deadline is reporting that Sam Claflin, who will be featured opposite Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has been cast as the Prince.  Claflin also has his hands in the young adult realm, having recently been cast as the lead in The Seventh Son, which currently has Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and Alicia Vikander attached.

Most of the stuff we've heard about Huntsman has focused on the film's big three characters: Snow White, Eric the Huntsman, and the Evil Queen(Charlize Theron). The story circles around the Queen's command that the huntsman find and kill Snow White, but he  refuses and goes on the run with the girl. I'm not sure where the prince fits into the scenario. Would he still be seeking his lady love? Or is it possible that sparks could fly between her and the huntsman, leaving the prince out in the cold?
