Damon Lindelof is getting closer to rivaling his Lost
cohort, JJ Abrams, as a force in the cinematic world. Ridley Scott chose him to do some script work on an Alien 
prequel, which Lindelof quickly hammered into what we now know as Prometheus. As if penning the early events of one of sci-fi's greatest franchises isn't enough, he's also got the Star Trek
sequel coming up, and did some work on Cowboys & Aliens. Dude is on a serious roll, with everything he's touched looking like a bonafide crowd pleaser. So it's no wonder that Disney wants to put his talents to their own good use.Deadline reports that Lindelof just scored a huge seven figure payday to draft the script to a super secret science fiction film, going under the working title of 1952. That's pretty much all that is known about it right now, except that whatever the film turns out to be, Disney plans on releasing it on a multitude of platforms. Sounds like DVD, Video On Demand, and possibly over the internet. The hope is for the film to be Disney's next great family franchise.
So any idea on what 1952 could mean? It was a particularly active time for America's exploration of space. NACA(the early form of NASA) was in the midst of testing new forms of rocket technology with the aid of Werner Von Braun. I could be totally wrong here, as 1952 is just a working title and could mean anything. It doesn't have to be a year.
