I made my feelings known about Craig Brewer's Footloose remake back when the trailer was released a couple of months ago. It's a terribly dated concept, that of a small town where a stick up the butt preacher gets dancing and rock 'n roll music banned, until a rebellious teen shows up and flips everybody's world upside down. It's best left in the 80s, where the silliness of the concept might fly. Trying to transport it to our time is a bad call.
And so we have the new, full length trailer for the film, which stars Kenny Wormold(???) in the role made iconic by Kevin Bacon, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell, and dozens of background dancers. Check it out for yourself, and set your dance card for October 14th 2011.
