* Kerry Bishe, who jumped from the final season of Scrubs and into the horror of Kevin Smith's Red State, has joined the cast of Argo, Ben Affleck's film based on some wild events taking place during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The film follows the efforts of the CIA to extract some holed up diplomats out of Tehran by creating a fake movie production. Straight up. Bishe will be Kathy Stafford, the set designer for the fake film. [THR]
* Speaking of Red State alums, Nicholas Braun is making the move into what'll be his most high profile film. He'll be co-starring alongside Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Chris Tucker, and Rosemarie Dewitt in Neighborhood Watch. Braun's role is unclear at this stage, but I'm guessing he'll play somebody's son or something. The Akiva Schaffer directed comedy centers on a bunch of husbands and dads who use the group as an excuse to hang out, until they discover an alien plot to rule the world. [Variety]
* Major Dad!!! Gerald McRaney, who recently kicked up a little dust in the HBO series Deadwood, is venturing back into the Old West as part of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. No word on his role, but he'll join Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kevin Costner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Leonardo DiCaprio in the racially charged, bound to be controversial spaghetti Western. Look for Django Unchained to hit theaters on Christmas day 2012.
