1st look at Neighborhood Watch, starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller

Hasn't it been ruled unfunny to still be mimicking the slow motion walking scene from Reservoir Dogs? Hasn't that been out of style for like ten years now? Somebody forgot to pass the memo to Akiva Schaffer(Hot Rod) and the cast of the comedy, Neighborhood Watch. Entertainment Weekly has the first photo(the 2nd is from IMDB) from the suburban comedy, which stars Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn as two family men who form a neighborhood watch group with their buddies as an escape from their daily lives. That is until they uncover something truly sinister, a plot to take over the world, and are forced to do something about it.

Shaffer is a terrible director, but the wealth of talent at his disposal here is a reason to be optimistic. The script was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and the supporting cast features Jonah Hill, Richard Ayoade(Submarine director), Rosemarie Dewitt, Will Forte, Nicholas Braun, and Billy Crudup. Also keep an eye out for Doug Jones(Hellboy) doing what he does best, playing an alien creature of some sort. 

Neighborhood Watch will open next year on July 27th.
