Emma Watson makes her boldest move yet, joining Sofia Coppola's 'Bling Ring'

Daniel Radcliffe can tout the success of The Woman in Black as his big move away from the world of Harry Potter. That's all well and good, but nothing compared to what Emma Watson has been doing lately, taking on films that may cause people to forget she ever played Hermione at all.  After a small role in My Week With Marilyn, she took the lead an adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She'll reteam with her Harry Potter director David Yates for Your Voice in My Head, based on the memoir by Emma Forrest. And just a couple of weeks ago she signed on to Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming take on Beauty and the Beast.

All that pales to what she has next, as Variety reports she'll take the lead in Sofia Coppola's latest exploration of the Hollywood privileged, Bling Ring.  The true life story, which we first learned about last December, would center on the Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch aka the 'Bling Ring', who took to robbing the homes of celebrities. Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan, and Orlando Bloom were just a few of their victims. The group included Alexis Neiers, one of the stars of the E! reality series, Pretty Wild. It remains to be seen if her sister, Tess Taylor, will make an appearance in the film as has been previously stated.

This is a move that makes sense on a number of levels. Coppola has always had a knack for finding strong, young female actresses to center her films around. She did it for Kirsten Dunst, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, and now Watson will get her shot.
