'Silent House' advance screening opportunity!
Elizabeth Olsen took a big step out of her famous siblings' shadows last year with two critically adored films that took the festival circuity by storm in 2011. One was Martha Marcy May Marlene, the twisty psycho thriller released late last year. The other was Silent House, a remake of the Spanish horror La Casa Muda, famously shot in one-continuous take for nearly 80 minutes. Director Chris Kentis(Open Water) will attempt to do the same in his version, and as it's March 9th release is right around the corner, we want to give you the chance to see the film early.
We're offering you a chance to win two passes to a screening of Silent House at a Washington DC theater on March 5th at 9:30pm. Note the start time! To qualify, you MUST be a fan of Punch Drunk Critics on Facebook. We will check before the Gofobo pass codes are distributed. To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment here with your name and email address.
Winners will be chosen on Saturday March 3rd, and notified via email on Sunday March 4th. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the contest we can not distribute the codes until that late date to prevent cheating. Bear in mind that ANY attempt to distribute the codes to others who did not not win, or to circumvent the process by creating multiple Gofobo user IDs will be met with banishment not only from all future contests but from the Gofobo system as a whole. Kinda sucks we have to do it that way, but there ya go.
I personally will be in attendance that evening, and anybody who comes up to me and can answer a trivia question in some way related to the film or it's stars will receive a prize. So keep an eye out!
